This year I'm going to be running the marathon with my daughter Barb (everybody else calls here "Titch") .... she doesn't like shorts so she's wearing a black skirt with pick fishnet tights as she didn't fancy shorts?!!

We're running for WellChild - this is what they're about:

"We are running for WellChild, which is FLM’s chosen charity and UK’s leading charity

for sick children. The money we raise will go to help save the lives of thousands of
children and improve treatments and care across many childhood illnesses, from
cancer to meningitis, heart disease to premature birth. There are nearly

14million children in UK. Unfortunately one in five of them have a long-term illness
such as diabetes, asthma or some form of blood, kidney, skin, heart or intestinal disorder, and there are currently more chronically sick children in UK than at any time in our history. By running this marathon, we hope that we can help make the lives of sick children better. OUR TRIP TO PRAGUE

My training for the marathon is going really well, and I've been on some longer runs and a few walks. Last weekend I did a 12 mile run, and this Saturday I'm planning to do a 16 mile one. Normally I'd do it on Sunday, but this weekend I'm going to the Health and Vitality Show  at London Olympia with my daughter and granddaughter. It's a nice way to spend a day, there's loads of beauty stuff that doesn't really bother me, but the health stuff is great.

I do like to pamper myself after the marathon though, and take a week off afterwards. I go to a day spa with a sauna and steamroom, and maybe get a massage as well.

I've just stuck my marathon number onto my t-shirt in preparation. This year's Alzheimer's Society  marathon t-shirt has an elephant on it, so I'm going to see if I can find some elephant ears to match!
